An exceptional first edition of A. A. Milne's Now We Are Six, published by Methuen & Co. in 1927. This copy is beautifully rebound by the renowned Bayntun (Rivière) bindery in the latter half of the 20th century. The binding features a luxurious red goatskin with exquisite gold-tooling, including illustrations after Ernest H. Shepard on the upper board and charming floral motifs on the spine and turn-ins. It has gilt edges and marbled endpapers. The original gold-stamped cloth covers are bound in at the rear, preserving a piece of its original state. Housed in a protective slipcase, this is a magnificent copy for any collector.
